Chitty day

As it is pouring with rain again today's job was to chit my potatoes. I've bought the Chase Organics Cook's Collection which consists of: Charlotte, Desiree, Ambo, Arran Victory, and Orla. Sounds like a girl band but apparently it is a good variety of earlies, maincrop and salad which will satisfy the needs of any cook.

And so to chitting. Which means collecting all your egg boxes together and filling them with potatoes, pointing the end with the most eyes upwards. Then leave them in a light cool place - in my case the guest room which is currently unheated. And wait for them to sprout.

As you can see, I need to go and buy some more eggs. And the Arran Victory are already sprouting away.
