Lunch - must have pancakes

Today we had pancakes - a Dutch speciality - at The Pancake Bakery which is a couple of blocks north of Anne Frank's House. These were delicious. The restaurant is touristy, busy but also really friendly and fun. The pancakes were great and we sat right next to the cooking area so could watch them being prepared. I guess practice makes this easier, and he was very accomplished.

I had bacon and apple - I did consider putting syrup on but thought that might be over the top. Lovely salty bacon and rings of apple all cooked inside the pancake. There was an enormous list of possible combinations and also of extras so you can pretty much have whatever you want. Some of the pancakes going past looked as if people had allowed their enthusiasm to get the better of them!
