Enjoying life and the weather

I've decided I quite like it here. A big plus is the weather. I don't know what California did to deserve its climate. Frankly it seems terribly unfair on other perfectly lovely parts of the world that they get soaked and cold and blown about (thinking Wales here) when here I am sitting in my kitchen looking at a perfectly cloudless blue sky with temperatures in the high teens (centigrade). T-shirt weather. Lemon growing weather. I still can't get over the fact that people have trees groaning with lemons in their back gardens. I have unripe blueberries on my small plant on the deck, as well as a flowering lavender and a lemon about to bloom.

STOP PRESS: Just noticed a (British) blackbird-sized bird on my deck, rust coloured chest, blackish head with a white ring round it's eye and a dark brownish grey back. No idea what it is, although it is probably after the blueberries....

Anyway, as I was saying, I'm enjoying life. Random reasons for the good mood - a successful shopping trip to Macy's where I bought a DKNY frock reduced by 75% to something affordable - a dinner last week in an excellent Sardinian restaurant in the neighbourhood - a planned night out for margaritas etc. in a hip and funky place in the Mission - it's globe artichoke and asparagus season.
