End of an era

Or maybe more of a phase. But definitely the end of something. My younger daughter had her last day at playgroup today. From early January, she will be at school nursery for the usual school hours and I will have 6 hours or so to myself. She is certainly ready for nursery. Itching to go in fact. And actually I'm ready to have a bit more time without the multiple short commutes to fetch children. People ask what I'm going to do with myself and I'm not sure I've come up with an answer yet. It could be time to find a job, but supporting Tom by making sure the house/garden/children run themselves while he works all hours and sometimes abroad, seems like a job in itself. It could be more gardening which would be good - perhaps a polytunnel as well as the beds. Or it could be more community involvement. This year has been about coping with last year and finding some equilibrium and settling down. Perhaps I'm ready for a bit more commitment to something other than tomato plants, parsnips and chickens. Watch this space.

Ah I am in transition too, although with older children than yours. Interesting and difficult. I am trying to let things emerge!

Sounds like you're at the same point in life as me :-) My son (4) has just moved up in hours at Kindy, and my daughter (nearly 2) is just about to start.

For the first time next year in February I'll have two hours free to myself a week! Whatever will I do with all that free time? I won't know myself!

:-D

Have a wonderful and safe Christmas and a happy New Year.
